A tragic road accident in Nakawa Division, Kampala, has led to the arrest of a driver suspected of causing a fatal hit-and-run. The incident occurred near Muggies Hotel on Mutungo-Biina Road, where a motorcycle carrying three pupils from Kiswa Primary School was struck.
The boda-boda rider tragically lost his life in the collision, while the three young passengers sustained injuries. Police quickly responded to the scene and initiated a search for the vehicle involved.
Following an investigation, authorities apprehended the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Dennis Mulema, on September 19, 2026. He was taken into custody at the Jinja Road Police Division.
The pupils were reportedly en route to school in the Bugolobi area of Nakawa Division at the time of the accident. The injured children received medical attention following the incident.
