Akwitti emphasized that the challenge lies not in a lack of creativity but in bridging the gap between conceptual design and commercial production. She pointed out the need for designers to consider factors like fabric durability, ease of care, and affordability when creating collections intended for a broader audience. “African fashion has the talent, but it’s still so hard to wear,” she remarked, encapsulating the core issue.
