The Second Deputy Katikkiro of Buganda, Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa, has called upon insurance companies to prioritize timely compensation for their clients. Speaking during a board meeting of Weerinde Insurance Brokerage Services Limited, Nsibirwa stressed that swift settlement of claims is vital for maintaining public confidence in the insurance industry.
Nsibirwa urged the leadership of Weerinde Insurance Brokerage Services Limited to conduct regular reviews of their operational procedures. The goal, he explained, is to ensure efficiency, accountability, and overall effectiveness in their service delivery. Adhering to these standards is crucial for meeting the requirements set by the Insurance Regulatory Authority, Uganda’s governing body for insurance.
“The insurance sector must operate in a way that gives customers confidence, particularly when they need compensation after suffering a loss,” Nsibirwa stated. He added that the discussions within the meeting were intended to foster innovative ideas for enhancing the quality of services offered by the brokerage.
Ronnie Mutebi Nsubuga, Chairperson of Weerinde’s board, affirmed the company’s commitment to upgrading its operational systems and standards. “We are going to raise the standard of our operations so that Weerinde can effectively contribute to improving the welfare of the people of Buganda,” Nsubuga remarked.
Jennifer Mirembe Ssensuwa, Managing Director of Weerinde Insurance Brokerage Services Ltd, acknowledged the Buganda Kingdom’s role in providing clear guidance and promoting transparency within its institutions. She pledged that the company would build upon its existing work and further strengthen its service offerings. The meeting took place at Jevine Hotel in Ndeeba.
