Bishop Banja Encourages Newlyweds to Build Marriages on Love and Respect

Bishop Moses Banja of Namirembe Diocese has offered crucial advice to newly married couples, urging them to place love and respect at the core of their unions. Speaking at a special service at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Namirembe, Bishop Banja officiated a mass wedding that saw 60 couples united in holy matrimony.

The Bishop highlighted that the longevity and stability of a marriage are significantly influenced by the conduct of the couple. He implored them to safeguard the sacred bond of marriage, viewing it as a precious gift from God.

“Couples should always prioritize love, respect one another, and be good examples by nurturing their marriages well, so that others can also be inspired by them,” Bishop Banja stated during his sermon.

He further encouraged the newlyweds to draw strength and guidance from God, advocating for them to emulate the teachings and example of Jesus Christ in all aspects of their married lives. “Look to God as your great teacher. He is the one who will enable you to build a strong marriage. Strive to emulate Jesus Christ in everything you do,” he advised.

The participating couples shared their joy and expressed deep gratitude to the Namirembe Diocese for facilitating the mass wedding. Many indicated they had eagerly anticipated this significant life event.

They collectively pledged to cherish, protect, and nurture their marriages, recognizing them as invaluable blessings. “We thank Namirembe Diocese for organizing this wedding. We have waited for this day for a long time, and we promise to value, protect, and nurture the marriages we have received today,” a representative couple affirmed.

This initiative by Namirembe Diocese not only celebrated the commitment of 60 couples but also provided them with foundational guidance for a successful married life. The service underscored the spiritual and relational responsibilities that come with the sacrament of marriage.
