Besigye Trial: Key Witness Admits Government Employment During Testimony

The treason trial of veteran opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye has taken a new turn with the prosecution’s star witness admitting to working for the Ugandan government. Andrew Wilson, an American national known by the alias Orlando, disclosed his employment status while answering questions posed by Chief State Attorney Richard Birivumbuka during re-examination in the High Court.

Wilson’s testimony has been central to the prosecution’s case, and this revelation about his prior government affiliation is likely to impact the proceedings.
