The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) is set to host a significant gathering in Ntungamo District on October 17th. This event, dubbed an “anti-corruption baraza,” is part of PLU’s intensified efforts to mobilize at the grassroots level and champion the cause of accountability across the nation.

The baraza will take place at Rubare Playground and is also intended as an endorsement event, according to PLU General Secretary Fadil Twalla. Twalla extended an invitation to residents of Ntungamo, individuals from across Western Uganda, and PLU supporters nationwide, anticipating a large turnout.

Beyond its anti-corruption focus, the event will offer valuable community services. A medical team will be present to interact with residents and provide health assistance. Complementing this, volunteer lawyers associated with PLU will offer pro bono legal support to attendees, addressing various legal concerns.

This Ntungamo baraza marks an expansion of PLU’s nationwide grassroots activities. The organization is integrating political mobilization with direct community engagement, focusing on critical issues such as accountability, access to essential services, and legal aid. The gathering is expected to be a key platform for engaging citizens on corruption-related matters and galvanizing support for PLU’s broader political agenda.
