Fly Entebbe Express taxi operators are calling on passengers to reclaim luggage and personal items left behind in their vehicles. A growing number of belongings, including bags, documents, electronics, and clothing, have accumulated over months without owners coming forward.

The association is urging anyone who may have forgotten items in a Fly Entebbe Express vehicle to visit their offices in Manyago, Entebbe Municipality. Passengers will have one month to collect their belongings free of charge.

Peter Kagwa, Chairman of Fly Entebbe Express, stated that the extended storage of these items is becoming a challenge due to limited space. “We have a responsibility to keep recovered belongings safely for a reasonable period, but we cannot continue storing unclaimed property indefinitely,” Kagwa explained.

Passengers who suspect they’ve lost something are encouraged to inquire promptly. They may need to provide specific details to verify ownership, especially if multiple similar items have been recovered. The association also aims to raise awareness among passengers about the importance of checking their seats and vehicles thoroughly before disembarking, particularly after long journeys or upon arrival at busy locations.

After the one-month grace period, unclaimed items could be turned over to the police or disposed of, depending on their nature. Furthermore, property left unclaimed for over three years may be donated to charitable causes, following established procedures. The association emphasizes that owners still have a significant window to trace and reclaim their belongings.

Fly Entebbe Express hopes this initiative will help reunite passengers with their lost property and foster better cooperation between passengers and operators. Travellers are encouraged to visit the Manyago offices to inquire about any missing items before the collection deadline. This effort prioritizes returning recovered belongings to their rightful owners within the stipulated timeframe.
