The Kingdom of Tooro has entered a period of profound grief as it bids farewell to its revered King, Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.
On Sunday, September 13, 2026, the nation witnessed the solemn procession of the late King’s body. Royal guards, with measured steps and visible sorrow, escorted the coffin to St. John’s Cathedral in Fort Portal. A requiem mass was held, attended by dignitaries, royal family members, and a multitude of mourners, all united by the shared loss.
The atmosphere was heavy with emotion as the community gathered to honor their King before his final interment. The procession marked the culmination of a period of national mourning, with citizens reflecting on King Oyo’s reign and his contributions to the Tooro people.
