Nigerian singer Fave has voiced her displeasure regarding her recent experience in Uganda, specifically targeting the promoter responsible for her visit. The artist took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her frustration after a Ugandan user commented on her performance outfit from a September 2nd show at Thrones.

The user remarked on photos Fave shared, noting that she seemed “as if we had forced you” to perform. This prompted Fave to respond, detailing her negative experience.

“It’s people like you and that silly promoter that make it hard for people to have nice things to say about Uganda,” Fave stated. She further elaborated that she was brought to the country for significantly less than her value and was treated poorly throughout her stay. Despite the alleged mistreatment, Fave mentioned she overlooked it due to her “love for Uganda.”

However, African Simba, the events promoter involved in Fave’s booking, has refuted these allegations. Simba insists that the singer was treated respectfully during her time in Uganda and received payment as per their prior agreement.

This situation has ignited an online discussion about the reception and treatment of international artists performing in Uganda, with conflicting accounts emerging from the parties involved.
