Lekjaa had reportedly declared that Casablanca would have the honor of hosting the final match.

Prime Minister Akhannouch publicly rebuked Lekjaa at a political rally, urging him to cease making such declarations before discussions with co-hosts Spain and Portugal. He emphasized the need for respect among allies and cautioned against using the potential final venue as an election promise, particularly with local elections approaching.

Meanwhile, the President of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Rafael Louzan, has staked Spain’s claim. Louzan dismissed Lekjaa’s statements as mere electioneering and argued that Spain, as the reigning world champion, is the natural choice to host the final. He highlighted Spain’s proven organizational capabilities for major events, suggesting that reality dictates the final must be held there.

FIFA has yet to announce the host of the 2030 World Cup final, with a spokesperson stating that a decision will be made in due course. Morocco is currently undertaking construction on a large stadium intended for the tournament, with progress reported at around 30% complete as of May.
