President Donald Trump has stated his belief that the ongoing conflict with Iran will not see an end until after the crucial midterm elections scheduled for November. Speaking to reporters, Trump indicated that Iran is strategically waiting to influence the election outcome. “I think the war’s going to end immediately after the election because they can’t hold out any longer,” he remarked, suggesting Tehran’s current position is unsustainable.

Trump connected the resolution of the conflict directly to a decrease in oil prices, promising a significant drop “right after the election.” He presented this short-term economic strain as a necessary trade-off to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, a claim Tehran has consistently denied.
