11 individuals charged and remanded for trespassing at Nakasero State Lodge

A group of eleven individuals are facing charges of criminal trespass following an incident at Nakasero State Lodge. They appeared before Buganda Road Chief Magistrate Ritah Neumbe Kidasa and pleaded not guilty to the allegations.
The prosecution, represented by State Attorney Ayub Kamba, informed the court that investigations into the matter are complete and requested a hearing date. The magistrate has scheduled their return to court for September 23, 2026, when they are expected to make bail applications and proceed with the hearing.
The accused, who hail from various districts including Wakiso, Kampala, Mbarara, Rukungiri, and Ibanda, are identified as Okello Stephen (teacher), Kigozi Iddi (manufacturer), Muhaise Joan (businesswoman), Tumuramye Robert Bayiga (social scientist), Nakamya Fatiah (businesswoman), Tumutegyereza Onesmas (businessman), Owomugisha Yasin (businessman and parliamentary aspirant), Twikirize Esther (student), Musiimenta Cledonia (former district councillor and student), Arituha Caroline (unemployed), and Seth Muyambi (former parliamentary contestant).
Prosecution alleges that on September 9, 2026, the group, along with others still at large, lawfully entered the State Lodge Nakasero premises and subsequently remained there with the intention to intimidate or annoy the Special Forces Command (SFC) soldiers who were on duty. The charge falls under Section 282(b) of the Penal Code Act.
