A young woman is facing serious charges after appearing in court for the alleged aggravated robbery and murder of her colleague. Patricia Rose Turindwamukama, 22, was remanded to Luzira Prison by the City Hall Court on Monday.

Turindwamukama is accused of robbing Jovia Namuwulya, a waitress at Olives Restaurant, of valuable items including an iPhone, handbag, clothes, and a passport. The prosecution alleges that the robbery escalated into murder, with a knife reportedly used as a deadly weapon during the commission of the crimes.

The alleged offences took place on the night of August 20, 2026, in the Mukalazi Zone of Bukoto I Parish. Investigations into the incident are reportedly still ongoing, according to State Attorney Mercy Yamangusho.

Authorities arrested Turindwamukama on August 24, four days after Namuwulya’s death, at a friend’s residence in Mbuya. Preliminary police findings suggest Turindwamukama applied for an Iraqi visa the day after the alleged murder.

Turindwamukama’s account of the events, shared on social media prior to her arrest, presents a different narrative. She claimed that she and Namuwulya were involved in a threesome with a man named Muhammad, and that Namuwulya subsequently robbed him of a significant sum of money. Turindwamukama stated she fled the scene after advising Namuwulya to return the money, which Namuwulya allegedly refused.

Despite this account, the prosecution maintains that Turindwamukama, along with an unidentified accomplice, was directly involved in the aggravated robbery and murder of her colleague. Turindwamukama has been remanded until September 22, 2026.
