Man Fatally Shot During Boxing Match Brawl at Kamuli Bar; Venue Owner Arrested

A violent altercation at a boxing match held at Muzuri Guest House and Bar in Kamuli Municipality resulted in the tragic death of Tenywa Hussain, aged 41. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, September 6, around 12:30 AM, amidst what police described as a brawl that escalated to the use of a firearm.
According to Samson Lubega, the Busoga North Regional Police Spokesperson, the fatal shooting stemmed from a disagreement over access to the event. Police were alerted shortly after the incident and quickly initiated an investigation, recovering crucial exhibits. The deceased’s body has been transported to Kamuli General Hospital for a postmortem.
The proprietor of Muzuri Guest House and Bar has been apprehended by authorities to aid in their inquiry. Police are actively pursuing other individuals believed to have been involved in the scuffle that led to the shooting. Detectives are also examining the circumstances surrounding the boxing match itself, specifically focusing on whether the event had obtained the required permits and adhered to safety regulations.
