Musician Kid Fox, whose real name is Steven Kiggundu, has resurfaced in Uganda after a 14-year absence, during which he resided in Japan. The dancehall star, once a prominent figure in the Ugandan entertainment scene, relocated over a decade ago, shifting his focus from music to a different life path.
Now back on Ugandan soil, Kid Fox shared with Galaxy TV that his time in Japan was characterized by a dedicated work ethic, which ultimately led to him remaining single and without children. “Life in Japan is just work and going back to your house,” he stated, explaining that his priorities were centered on his ambitions.
Kid Fox also touched on the complexities of dating in Japan, noting that he found it difficult to find a partner with whom he could align without compromising his personal principles. He suggested that pursuing relationships with “spoiled ones” was not an option for him.
His return marks a potential comeback to the Ugandan music industry. Kid Fox has expressed a desire to collaborate with fellow artists such as Sheebah Karungi and Ziza Bafana as he re-establishes himself. A key priority for the veteran artist upon his return is also reconnecting with his mother and other family members he left behind.
His revelation about his life in Japan may surprise fans who remember his active music career and celebrity status in Uganda. While many of his peers have settled down and started families, Kid Fox’s journey abroad took a different direction focused primarily on his professional pursuits.
