Ugandan musician Ibunbaazi Ssentongo, widely known as Echoled, has been announced as the headline performer for the 2026 Afro Migration Festival. The event is set to take place from October 9 to 11 at the Nile Nest Resort in Jinja, promising a vibrant three-day immersion into African music, art, fashion, and cuisine.
This cultural gathering will uniquely combine live musical performances with other artistic expressions, set against the backdrop of riverside camping along the Nile. Organizers intend for the festival to be a comprehensive celebration of African creativity and heritage.
Echoled, recognized for his distinctive fusion of Afro R&B, dancehall, and urban Kadongo Kamu, is expected to lead the entertainment lineup during Uganda’s Independence Weekend. His growing popularity stems from his emotionally resonant music, highlighted by his recent EP, ‘Kush After Hour’.
Festival organizers stated that Echoled’s selection underscores the event’s commitment to showcasing and uplifting new talent from Uganda and the wider East African region. They described Echoled as embodying “the new wave of Ugandan music—authentic, energetic and deeply connected to the culture,” adding that his headlining role sends a strong message about the festival’s future direction.
Attendees can anticipate a program filled with captivating live sets from Echoled and other artists, alongside diverse cultural experiences. The festival is designed to foster interaction and celebration among music lovers, creatives, and culture enthusiasts.
Tickets for the 2026 Afro Migration Festival are currently available for purchase through All Access Uganda, with preparations underway for the October 9 opening in Jinja.
