A significant milestone was reached at Isar Primary School in Nsaggu Village, Wakiso Muslim District, as 36 students completed their memorization of the entire Holy Quran. This marked the school’s inaugural graduation ceremony for this accomplishment.

The event was graced by the 2nd Deputy Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Hafiz Muhammad Harunah Bukenya, who represented the Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje. Sheikh Bukenya lauded the organizations behind the school for establishing a modern educational facility that nurtures both religious and academic growth.

Addressing the graduates, Sheikh Bukenya emphasized the importance of not just memorizing the Quran, but embodying its teachings. He urged them to allow the Quran to shape their character, discipline, and interactions with others, highlighting the profound spiritual rewards associated with learning and teaching the holy book.

Parents were commended for their trust in the school, and the graduates were encouraged to remain humble, disciplined, and dedicated to serving their communities. Sheikh Bukenya stressed that their achievement comes with a responsibility to be positive role models and to utilize their knowledge for the betterment of their families and communities.

The Deputy Mufti also expressed gratitude to Care International and other Türkiye-based charitable organizations for their ongoing partnership with the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council. He acknowledged their substantial contributions to various community development projects, including the construction of essential infrastructure like boreholes and mosques, as well as supporting Qurban programs.

“We appreciate the support and cooperation we continue to receive from the charitable organisations from Türkiye. Their contribution is not limited to religious education but extends to improving the welfare of communities,” stated Sheikh Bukenya, underscoring the holistic impact of their aid.
