Museveni Backs Barugahara, Nameere Amidst Corruption Crackdown

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has publicly supported the field inspections conducted by officials Barugahara and Nameere, dismissing detractors who he claims lack foresight.

During a recent address, President Museveni underscored the necessity of hands-on verification of projects and initiatives, suggesting that such inspections are crucial for understanding the real progress and challenges on the ground. He stated that criticism from those who fail to grasp the strategic importance of these actions would not deter his administration.

The President reiterated his commitment to tackling corruption, urging for “decisive action” against those involved. He stressed that corruption undermines national development and erodes public trust, making it a critical battle that must be won.

Furthermore, President Museveni shared his vision for Africa’s economic future, emphasizing the transformative power of processing and value addition. “It is the short-sighted people who put their opinions in writing. They don’t understand that the future of all countries lies in processing,” he asserted, indicating that industrialization and manufacturing are key to self-sufficiency and economic growth on the continent.

His remarks signal a firm stance against corruption and a clear direction for Uganda’s development, focusing on practical oversight and economic empowerment through industrialization.
