Preparations are complete for the fifth UAE-Uganda Business Forum, scheduled to take place from October 26 to 29 across multiple Emirati cities, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Fujairah. This four-day event aims to transform the growing bilateral trade and investment relationship between the two nations into tangible business outcomes.

The forum is designed to highlight Uganda’s potential for investment and exports, while simultaneously creating direct connections between Ugandan companies and potential investors, buyers, and strategic partners based in the UAE. This initiative seeks to move beyond mere discussions and generate concrete business transactions, investment commitments, and market access opportunities.

Discussions are expected to focus on key sectors vital to both economies. These include agriculture and agro-processing, trade and exports, mining and minerals, tourism, infrastructure development, energy, logistics and air cargo, manufacturing, financial services, and technology. The event also aims to position Uganda as an attractive and competitive destination for business and investment.

According to Mr. Kibedi Zaake, Head of Mission for the Embassy of Uganda in the UAE, the forum is particularly significant given the UAE’s increasing role as an economic partner for Uganda. The event will facilitate market intelligence, business matchmaking, and provide support for Ugandan firms looking to expand internationally.

Organizers have encouraged Ugandan businesses, investors, exporters, financial institutions, and government agencies to actively participate to leverage the opportunities presented by the UAE market. The success of the forum will be measured by the contracts signed, investments secured, exports generated, partnerships established, and jobs created, ultimately aiming to elevate the UAE-Uganda relationship towards greater shared prosperity.
