A tragic incident unfolded in Hoima city’s Kiryatete Cell early Saturday morning, leading to the arrest of a 24-year-old private security guard. Godfrey Kasaga, employed by Radah Tech Security Company Ltd, is accused of fatally shooting his colleague, Pascal Agenda, at the Nile Depot.

The shooting reportedly occurred around 4:48 am. Police preliminary reports suggest the two guards, who were on duty together, engaged in a dispute whose cause is yet to be determined. Kasaga allegedly used his firearm to shoot Agenda multiple times, hitting him in the back, head, and left arm. Agenda succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

James Mugisha, the manager for Radah Tech Security Company Ltd, stated that he was alerted to the incident and promptly contacted the police. Responding officers were able to apprehend Kasaga at the scene and secure the weapon believed to have been used in the killing.

The recovered firearm, a SAR gun with registration number UGPSO702601308647, was found to have four rounds of ammunition. Authorities have transported Agenda’s body to the Hoima City Mortuary for an autopsy before it will be released to his family for burial.

Albertine Region police spokesperson, Julius Hakiza, confirmed the arrest and ongoing investigation. Kasaga is currently in police custody at Hoima City Central Police Station. Once the investigation is complete, he is expected to be charged with murder and presented in court.
