Buganda Kingdom has launched an extensive performance review across Ssingo County, aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of service delivery, governance structures, and the implementation of development programs at the local level.

The assessment, spearheaded by the Local Government Council Chairperson Robert Ssenabulya, commenced at the Ssingo County headquarters in Matutuma. Officials are meticulously examining the operational status of various institutions and key sectors within the county.

Critical areas under scrutiny include health services, agricultural initiatives, and the functioning of local council operations, all of which are crucial for improving community welfare. This exercise forms part of a broader strategy by the Buganda Kingdom Government to systematically monitor institutional performance and program execution throughout the kingdom’s various counties.

Deo Kagimu, the Ssingo County Chief and representative of the Kabaka, expressed gratitude to Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II for championing initiatives that bolster accountability and service provision. He noted that the review provides a valuable platform for reflection, challenge identification, and ultimately, service improvement.

Leaders of Buganda Kingdom institutions in Ssingo generally reported satisfactory performance but welcomed the review as a means to pinpoint operational gaps and reinforce their functions. They lauded the Kabaka’s foresight in establishing a framework for regular performance evaluation.

Chairperson Ssenabulya encouraged officials to approach the assessment without apprehension, emphasizing its constructive purpose: to recognize achievements, understand challenges, and pinpoint areas needing enhancement.

The insights gained from this review are expected to furnish the Buganda Kingdom leadership with a clear picture of sectoral performance in Ssingo, informing future strategies for service improvement and governance strengthening. It also offers a vital opportunity for officials to share experiences and collaboratively devise practical solutions for community challenges.
