Igenge Palace was the venue for a significant meeting between the Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Gabula Nadiope IV, and a royal delegation from the Bulamogi Chiefdom. The talks primarily revolved around fostering unity, improving service delivery, and driving development across the Busoga region.
The delegation, led by Prince Naita Richard, the Isabalangira of Bulamogi, included prominent figures such as Prince Kagoda Elijah, the LC5 chairperson of Kaliro District, and Princess Nambi Harriet. They were warmly received by the Deputy Katukiro, Alhaj Osman Ahmed Noor.
Prince Naita expressed gratitude to the Kyabazinga for his impactful leadership and the numerous development programs benefiting Bulamogi. He specifically cited bursary schemes, the Masaza Cup tournament, health camps, and the Empango program as initiatives that have significantly uplifted the spirits of ordinary Basoga.
Reiterating Bulamogi’s dedication to a strong union with the Obwakyabazinga, Prince Naita appealed for a greater focus on the chiefdom, noting persistent challenges in health, education, water and sanitation, and poverty alleviation.
The delegation also extended an invitation to the Kyabazinga to visit Bulamogi, viewing it as an opportunity to further strengthen ties with the royal family and the local populace.
Responding positively, the Kyabazinga lauded the Bulamogi leaders for their selfless and visionary approach to governance, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the people. He pledged to intensify development efforts in Bulamogi, aiming to enhance livelihoods and create employment opportunities, particularly for the youth.
This engagement aligns with the Obwakyabazinga’s broader strategy of deepening grassroots involvement through programs like Empango, which concentrate on health, education, and cultural promotion throughout Busoga’s eleven chiefdoms.
