The Ministry of Education and Sports has thrown its support behind the second edition of the Presidential CEO Charity Run by donating Shs10 million. This significant contribution is earmarked for the construction of much-needed classroom blocks at Entebbe Welfare School, which serves children with special needs.

State Minister for Sports, Peter Ogwanga, officiated at the event held in Entebbe Municipality. He expressed the ministry’s commitment to fostering the charity run into a larger annual event. During the flag-off of the five-kilometre race, Ogwanga handed over the cheque on behalf of the ministry.

“We are committed to supporting this initiative and making the CEO Run a bigger annual event,” stated Ogwanga, emphasizing the importance of the cause. He also took the opportunity to commend the leadership of Entebbe Municipality for its development strides, particularly highlighting improvements in the road network that are transforming the area.

Irene Birungi Mugisha, CEO of the Presidential CEO Forum, acknowledged the community’s positive response and the strong turnout for the charitable initiative. Entebbe Municipality Mayor, Fabrice Rulinda, pledged that fundraising efforts would continue relentlessly until substantial improvements are visible at Entebbe Welfare School.

The event concluded with a luncheon where sponsors, leaders, and children from Entebbe Welfare School shared a meal, reinforcing the event’s message of inclusion and the importance of providing equal care and opportunities for children with special needs. The run was held under the theme, “Save a Life, Change a Future.”
