Salam TV is gearing up for the seventh edition of its popular Omumanyi competition, marking the start of registrations in Iganga. This year’s event introduces a comprehensive guidebook designed to assist participants in their preparation.
The launch event, held during Salam Jumah prayers at local mosques in Iganga, signaled the commencement of both contestant registration and the distribution of the official Omumanyi wa Salam TV Guidebook.
Participation in Iganga requires a registration fee of Shs20,000, with the guidebook available for purchase at Shs40,000. Abdussalaam Ali Kinobe, the national coordinator, highlighted that the new guidebook simplifies the competition by covering essential topics like current affairs, East African history, and Islamic theology.
“The guidebook is good not only for competitors but for everyone who wants to be informed,” Kinobe stated, emphasizing its broad relevance.
Salam TV has confirmed that the prize pool for this edition remains substantial, featuring coveted rewards such as cars, Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages, land titles, motorcycles, and cash prizes, among others.
Following Iganga’s victory in the previous edition, local leaders are urging residents to rally behind efforts to defend their title. Sheikh Uthman Ngoobi appealed for community involvement to ensure Iganga retains its winning status.
The competition, now in its seventh year, will span the entire country, commencing in Iganga. Organizers are still welcoming partnerships and sponsorships for the event.
Interested individuals can register or purchase the guidebook by contacting 0702 988064 or 0776 988064.
