Three South Sudanese Nationals Charged with Shs8 Million Casino Fraud in Kampala

Three South Sudanese nationals are facing charges of fraud at the Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court in Kampala. The accused, identified as Yol Dheng Zande Chour, Abiacko Amour David Dacko, and Ahon Chapa Mangok, allegedly perpetrated a scheme that resulted in the loss of Shs8 million to the Golden Tripod Casino.

The trio, along with an accomplice who is currently at large, are accused of jointly committing the offense between July 31 and August 8, 2026. The alleged fraudulent activities took place at the Golden Tripod Casino located in Kampala Central Division.

According to the prosecution, the accused employed fraudulent tricks while participating in a game on a roulette machine to obtain the substantial sum of money from the casino. They have denied the charge of cheating, which is contrary to Section 287 of the Penal Code Act.

The case was presented before Grade One Magistrate Rophine Achayo. The state prosecutor, Ms. Hope Masawii, informed the court that investigations have been concluded and requested a hearing date. Mr. Daniel Kazibwe, known as Ragga Dee, was present in court for the mention of the case.

The court has adjourned the matter to August 31, 2026, to hear the bail application of the accused. The ongoing legal proceedings will determine the outcome of these charges.
