A father and son have received the death penalty from the High Court in Kampala for their role in the murder of Engineer Daniel Lwomwa Bbosa, the former leader of the Ndiga Clan. Bbosa Tabula Lugya and his son, Noah Bbosa Lugya, admitted guilt to the murder charges.
The conviction stems from the fatal shooting of Engineer Bbosa, also known by his traditional title Lwomwa, on February 24, 2024. The incident occurred in Kikandwa Village, Lungujja, within Kampala.
During the sentencing proceedings, Bbosa Tabula Lugya sought forgiveness from the court and the family of the deceased. However, Gladys Bbosa, the widow of Engineer Bbosa, implored the court to administer the harshest possible penalty for the crime.
Justice David Matovu, presiding over the case, delivered the death sentence to Lugya and his son. This ruling concludes the proceedings against these two primary accused individuals.
Meanwhile, three other individuals who have pleaded not guilty to the murder charges remain in custody. Their case is scheduled for a return to court in September 2026.
Engineer Bbosa was a significant figure in the Buganda Kingdom, respected for his leadership within the Ndiga Clan. He was also recognized as a notable businessman, particularly in the electronics industry, and was well-known across Buganda’s social and commercial spheres.
