El Niño Threatens Uganda with Above-Normal Rains, Experts Warn

Meteorological experts are sounding the alarm as climate forecasts indicate a significant likelihood of above-normal rainfall across various regions of Uganda. The anticipated intensification of El Niño weather patterns is the primary driver behind these projections, which could lead to widespread flooding.

These conditions pose a considerable threat to the agricultural sector, a cornerstone of Uganda’s economy. Farmers are being advised to prepare for potential disruptions and consider climate-resilient farming practices.
