President Yoweri Museveni and the Katikkiro of Buganda, Mr. Charles Peter Mayiga, have underscored the significance of cultural heritage and traditional values. Their remarks came during prayers held to commemorate the 33rd coronation anniversary of the Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.

Speaking at the event, Katikkiro Mayiga issued a strong caution against the erosion of cultural practices due to the pervasive influence of globalization. He urged Ugandans, particularly the youth, to embrace and uphold their traditions, emphasizing that cultural identity is a cornerstone of societal strength and continuity.
