Busitema and Makerere Universities Launch Eastern Uganda's First Medical PhD

Busitema University, in collaboration with Makerere University, is set to launch a pioneering Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medicine program. This marks the first time such an advanced medical degree will be available in Eastern Uganda, addressing a critical gap in specialized postgraduate training.

The initiative aims to foster local expertise and reduce the need for Ugandan medical professionals to seek advanced training abroad. By offering a PhD program locally, the universities intend to cultivate a new generation of medical researchers and specialists who can contribute to improving healthcare services within Uganda.
