The Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in the Russian Federation is spearheading an ambitious campaign to elevate Uganda’s profile as a prime tourist destination for the Russian market and other Russian-speaking countries. Led by Ambassador Moses Kizige, the initiative aims to forge stronger connections with travel agents, media personalities, content creators, and influencers.

Recently, the embassy hosted a specialized dinner for leading Russian travel agents and designers. The event featured authentic Ugandan cuisine and game delicacies, offering guests a taste of the Pearl of Africa’s rich culinary heritage while highlighting the nation’s diverse attractions, vibrant culture, and renowned hospitality.

This promotional drive is not limited to culinary experiences. It also seeks to leverage the influence of Ugandan content creators and media professionals based in Russia. The embassy is committed to building strategic partnerships across the travel trade and digital media landscape, with a focus on expanding Uganda’s visibility in Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Georgia, and Moldova.

Ambassador Kizige emphasized the campaign’s goal of creating authentic Ugandan experiences for Russian travel professionals and opinion leaders. By showcasing Uganda’s culture, wildlife, and hospitality, the embassy aims to foster lasting relationships that will encourage more visitors and support the country’s tourism growth objectives. As part of this effort, a group of travel agents and designers will embark on a 10-day tour of Uganda’s prime national parks, including Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth, and Bwindi.

The embassy plans to continue a series of promotional activities throughout the year to highlight Uganda’s exceptional natural beauty, abundant wildlife, adventure opportunities, cultural richness, and investment potential. This sustained effort is designed to boost awareness and attract a greater number of tourists from the region.
