Uganda Baati Commences Roofing for St. Paul Church Nyangilia in Koboko

Construction of the new St. Paul Church of Uganda Nyangilia sanctuary in Koboko District has reached a crucial phase with Uganda Baati taking over the roofing works. The project, valued at around Shs515 million, includes the supply and installation of advanced steel building solutions from Uganda Baati, such as ULTRA-SPAN light gauge steel trusses, Versatile roofing sheets, and essential accessories.
The official handover ceremony coincided with a thanksgiving and fasting prayer service held at the church premises on Saturday, July 25, 2026. During the event, the first consignment of roofing materials was delivered, signaling progress on the construction.
Daniel Kiseka, Uganda Baati’s Site Engineer, expressed the company’s pride in contributing to a project that will serve the community for generations. He highlighted Uganda Baati’s long-standing expertise in steel building solutions since 1964, emphasizing their evolution to offer comprehensive building services beyond just roofing sheets.
Church leaders, including Archdeacon Canon Alice Bayo, acknowledged the current building’s inadequacy for the growing congregation. She conveyed her hope to worship in the new sanctuary by the end of the year and appealed for continued support from the community and well-wishers.
Koboko District LC V Chairperson Ashiraf Mambo echoed the need for further contributions to complete the remaining works. He stressed the collective ownership of the church and encouraged sustained support from residents and the wider West Nile community. Mambo also made a plea for President Museveni to fulfill a prior pledge, which would significantly aid in financing the post-roofing construction phases.
Upon completion, the new sanctuary will not only be the second-largest in the Madi-West Nile Diocese but will also serve as the primary parish church and the chapel for the Koboko Archdeaconry headquarters, providing a vital spiritual center for the region. Source: Nile Post
