Minister Babalanda Emphasizes Moral Leadership and Development Initiatives

Minister for the Presidency, Babirye Milly Babalanda, recently graced the Silver Jubilee celebration of Rev. Fr. Anthony Musana’s 25 years in priesthood at Wansimba Parish Pastoral Council in Jinja District.

The event, held under the theme “The Favours of the Lord I Will Recall,” saw the Minister convey President Museveni’s greetings and emphasize the crucial role of spiritual and political leaders in guiding citizens.

Minister Babalanda lauded Rev. Fr. Musana for his service and dedication to fostering good morals. She stated that a nation with upright religious and political leaders is better positioned for peace and progress, as both aim to serve the populace and steward the nation.

“God-fearing citizens speak the truth, reject corruption, and promote honesty,” Babalanda remarked, adding that faith instills forgiveness and tolerance. She called on religious leaders to intensify their preaching to combat challenges like corruption, which she noted has eroded public trust and hampered service delivery.

The Minister also seized the opportunity to promote government wealth-creation initiatives, urging Ugandans to embrace the Four-Acre Model, Emyooga, the Parish Development Model (PDM), and the GROW Project to eradicate poverty.

As the Local Council elections approach, Babalanda encouraged support for NRM flag bearers, describing local leadership as fundamental to service delivery and the implementation of national development agendas. She also appealed to leaders in the Busoga sub-region to collaborate on poverty reduction and ensure government programs reach every household.

Rev. Fr. Musana expressed his gratitude to Minister Babalanda for attending and commended her commitment to the NRM party. The celebration was attended by various dignitaries, including judicial officials, parliamentary staff, and local Members of Parliament.
