Uganda Insurers Association Bolsters Bugembe Health Centre IV with Medical Equipment

The Uganda Insurers Association (UIA) has delivered a significant donation of medical equipment to Bugembe Health Centre IV, located in Jinja City. This initiative is part of the association’s broader efforts to strengthen healthcare services and improve community health outcomes.

The handover ceremony, coinciding with the UIA’s 58th Annual General Meeting, showcased the insurance industry’s dedication to social responsibility, extending its role beyond financial risk management.

UIA Chairperson Ruth Namuli emphasized that the donation aligns with the association’s mission to protect lives and livelihoods. “Our responsibility extends beyond providing financial protection to supporting initiatives that improve the quality of life for the communities we serve,” Namuli stated, highlighting the critical link between healthy communities and sustainable development.

In addition to the medical equipment, UIA CEO Jonan Kisakye also announced the donation of 50 boda boda helmets and reflective jackets to promote road safety. “Today we are showing the residents of Bugembe that as insurers, we consider them vital to our business,” Kisakye remarked.

Bugembe Health Centre IV plays a crucial role in providing essential healthcare services, including maternal and child care, emergency treatment, and disease prevention, to a growing population in Jinja City and its environs.

Health officials at the facility expressed deep gratitude, noting that the new equipment will bridge critical gaps, improve patient care efficiency, and enhance their ability to respond to community health needs.

This contribution from the UIA highlights the vital role of private sector partnerships in complementing government efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure and accessibility in Uganda.
