Singer Irene Namatovu has expressed a profound joy and satisfaction in raising children who are not her biological kin, emphasizing that the essence of motherhood extends far beyond genetic connections.
During a recent interview, Namatovu revealed that she has actively participated in raising several children from her co-wife’s family. She views this role not as a burden, but as a deeply rewarding part of her life.
“I am happy that I took care of and raised children who belonged to my co-wife, and none of them has disappointed me. They are well educated and living good lives today. I believe I am about 80% responsible for the good life they are enjoying,” she stated, reflecting on the positive outcomes.
Namatovu finds immense gratification in witnessing these children mature into successful and responsible adults. This experience has led her to encourage other women to open their hearts and homes to motherhood, irrespective of biological parentage.
She believes that every child deserves a nurturing environment, complete with love, guidance, and unwavering support. Namatovu posits that child-rearing should be perceived as a communal endeavor, contributing significantly to the strength and stability of families and the broader community.
