SFC Drills to Compete in Second Inter-Forces CDF Competition

The Special Forces Command (SFC) has officially sent off its Alpha and Bravo drill units for the upcoming Second Inter-Forces Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Drill Competition. The teams will now proceed to Bombo for final intensive rehearsals alongside participants from various other security forces before the main event at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.

Maj. Gen. David Mugisha, the Commander of SFC, addressed the departing teams, acknowledging their hard work and progress during training. He emphasized the critical need for concentration, discipline, and unwavering determination, stating that participation alone is not enough; success demands a comprehensive commitment.

General Mugisha cautioned the soldiers against activities such as excessive alcohol consumption, which could impair their readiness. He reiterated that military discipline is paramount for achieving success in competitive environments and stressed that while the competition highlights collective performance, the dedication, self-drive, and coordination of each individual member are foundational to victory.

The competition, initiated by Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, aims to foster greater military discipline, physical fitness, and excellence in drill routines among all ranks. Last year, SFC secured two trophies, notably winning the Mastery (Showmanship) Drill category, though the Internal Security Organisation (ISO) took the overall championship.

This year’s event promises a range of challenging categories, including Sword Drill, Cane Stick Drill, Crop Stick Drill, Foot Drill, Pace Stick Drill, and the highly anticipated Mastery (Showmanship) Drill. The SFC flag-off ceremony was attended by several senior officers, underscoring the command’s commitment to the competition.
