Kassiano Wadri Named New ANT National Coordinator

The Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) has announced the appointment of Kassiano Wadri as its new National Coordinator. Wadri, a seasoned opposition politician, takes over from Alice Alaso, who has held the position since 2020.

The party expressed optimism that Wadri’s wealth of experience in public service and opposition politics will be instrumental in strengthening ANT’s organizational structures and advancing its mission to reshape Uganda’s political landscape.

ANT President Gen. Mugisha Muntu lauded Wadri’s decades of commitment to public service, stating that his leadership will guide the party effectively into its next phase of growth. “Kassiano Wadri brings with him a lifetime of service and commitment to the nation that will no doubt spur the party forward in the right direction,” Muntu commented.

Muntu also paid tribute to Alice Alaso for her contributions, highlighting her role in expanding ANT’s national presence, including securing the party’s first Member of Parliament and increasing its local government representation.

Emphasizing the importance of democratic transitions, Muntu noted that leadership changes should be viewed as normal aspects of politics, fostering a culture that prioritizes the nation and its people over personal ambition. He reaffirmed ANT’s dedication to cultivating a political environment characterized by peaceful succession and service to the national interest.

Wadri’s political career includes serving as the Member of Parliament for Terego County for three terms and holding positions such as Opposition Chief Whip and chair of the Public Accounts Committee. He later returned to Parliament as an independent MP for Arua Municipality in 2018. Wadri joined ANT and has been actively involved in developing the party’s structures, particularly in the West Nile region.
