He emphasized that the organization plays a crucial role in cultivating essential values like patriotism, discipline, and leadership among the youth, preparing them for responsible and productive futures.
The camp, which ran from July 16th to 19th, 2026, saw the participation of over 1,000 students from various schools across the Greater Masaka region.
Brigadier General Bagonza, representing the Commander of the Armoured Division, also extended appreciation to President Museveni, the Patron of the Uganda Scouts Association, for his ongoing support and guidance.
“Scouting equips young people with vital values and practical life skills, including patriotism, discipline, self-reliance, survival skills and teamwork,” Bagonza stated. He urged the pupils to embrace these principles to achieve personal success and contribute positively to their communities.
He further noted that many prominent leaders in government and public service began their leadership journeys through scouting, underscoring the movement’s enduring influence.
