The Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports and Industrial Development (PACEID) has officially announced the upcoming Uganda Connect International Buyers’ Week (UCIBW) 2026, a key event aimed at enhancing Uganda’s presence in global markets. Scheduled from November 9-15, 2026, at the Speke Resort Convention Centre in Munyonyo, the week-long program will convene international buyers, investors, trade officials, exporters, and government representatives.

Themed “MEET. CONNECT. TRADE,” the event will facilitate various activities including business-to-business meetings, investment roundtables, sector-specific deal rooms, factory tours, and product demonstrations. PACEID stated that the initiative’s primary goals are to broaden market access for Ugandan goods, secure export contracts, build confidence in Uganda’s production capabilities, and solidify the country’s reputation as a prime destination for trade and investment.

Building on the success of the previous year, which generated over USD 1.5 million in export contracts, the 2026 edition aims to facilitate at least 20 export transactions valued at over USD 3 million. PACEID Chairman Odrek Rwabwogo emphasized the strategy of securing markets before expanding production, stating, “The prosperity of any nation begins with markets.” He highlighted that the event is crucial for Uganda’s export-led industrialization agenda, focusing on demand creation for sustainable job growth and increased household incomes.

Rwabwogo further elaborated that the government’s role is to facilitate market access, enforce standards, improve infrastructure, and unlock financing. “When demand grows, farmers produce more, factories expand, logistics improve and the entire economy benefits,” he added. The Buyers’ Week is also intended to showcase Uganda’s quality products, hospitality, and investment potential, positioning the nation as a regional business gateway.

PACEID Markets Director, Katarikawe Opus Brenda, described the event as a crucial platform for forging long-term business relationships. The announcement coincided with the release of PACEID’s Half-Year Performance Report and the commencement of exporter onboarding and buyer recruitment campaigns. An exporter readiness program is also set to run from July to October, preparing Ugandan businesses with training in export compliance, branding, and negotiation skills.

This initiative represents a strategic effort to drive economic growth through enhanced international trade and investment opportunities for Ugandan businesses. http://nilepost.co.ug/news/356682/paceid-launches-uganda-connect-buyers-week-to-boost-global-trade
