Hajj Karim Kaliisa, the Managing Director of Salam TV and Salam Charity, has formally expressed his sympathies following the death of Qatar’s Father Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Hajj Kaliisa visited the Qatar Embassy in Kampala to pay his respects at a condolence session held for the late leader.
Sheikh Hamad, who passed away on July 12, 2026, at the age of 74, was a significant figure in Qatar’s development and its role in the broader Muslim world. Hajj Kaliisa’s visit was facilitated by Abdallah Al Jofairi, the Chargé d’Affaires at the Qatar Embassy, who stood in for Ambassador H.E. Ahmed bin Mohammed Alzowaidi.
During his visit, Hajj Kaliisa signed the official condolence book, conveying his deepest sympathies to the embassy representatives and, by extension, the people of Qatar. He took the opportunity to reflect on Sheikh Hamad’s legacy, describing him as a “statesman” whose impactful leadership and contributions would be long remembered.
Hajj Kaliisa concluded his tribute with a prayer for the late Father Amir, seeking divine mercy and forgiveness. The Qatar Embassy in Kampala has opened its condolence book for public and official access, allowing various dignitaries and citizens to share their grief and respect for the departed leader.
