Gladys Baligonzaki's Traditional Introduction Ceremony Held in Hoima

Mulago National Referral Hospital’s Public Relations Officer, Gladys Baligonzaki, recently celebrated a significant milestone as her fiancé, Nicholas Kyosaba, formally introduced her in a colorful traditional marriage ceremony held in Hoima City.

The event drew a distinguished crowd from across Uganda, including political figures, colleagues from Mulago Hospital, former associates from the Ministry of Agriculture and Masindi District Local Government, alongside friends and family from Bunyoro and Kampala.

During the ceremony, Hoima City West Member of Parliament, Patrick Isingoma, urged young individuals to embrace marriage, highlighting its role in fostering responsibility and personal stability. He noted that marriage simplifies planning and can help couples manage their finances more effectively. “A family is a family. Besides having a good job, being married makes you more responsible and earns you respect in society,” Isingoma stated.

He further advised the couple to anchor their union in love, patience, forgiveness, and mutual respect, emphasizing practical actions over mere words. “Love each other deeply, not just in words but in actions. Respect one another always. Listen more than you speak, especially when it’s hard. Put God at the centre of your marriage and home. Prayer, laughter and unity will carry you through,” he shared.

Baligonzaki described the introduction as a pivotal moment, encouraging women to exercise patience in their journey towards marriage. “It takes two to build a relationship. Always be patient because God has His timing for everything. When the time comes, He will make a way,” she advised, adding that women should prioritize character, good manners, and respect over superficial traits like wealth or appearance when choosing a life partner.

Her fiancé, Nicholas Kyosaba, expressed his joy, stating that Baligonzaki embodies the qualities he had prayed for in a partner. He also encouraged men to commit to a single relationship for stability and focus. The ceremony was a joyous occasion, marked by cultural displays and celebrations as the couple embarked on the next stage of their marital journey.
