Mogo Uganda Boosts Kiswa Primary School with Furniture and Learning Materials

Mogo Uganda, a financial services provider, has extended its support to Kiswa Primary School in Bugolobi, Kampala, through a significant donation of learning materials and furniture. This initiative is part of the company’s ongoing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) efforts.

The contribution includes 40 chairs, 102 box files, waiting chairs, reams of paper, books, and pens. These resources are set to benefit over 1,700 pupils in the primary section and more than 230 children attending the school’s Early Childhood Development (ECD) centre.

Kiswa Primary School, located in the Nakawa Division, serves a significant number of children from low-income households in surrounding areas like Kasokoso, Giza Giza, and Mbuya. This makes external support crucial for its operations.

Douglas Kikonyogo, Marketing and Communications Manager at Mogo Uganda, emphasized the donation’s role in providing a strong educational foundation for the students. “Our core values remain to contribute towards the community, uplift those in need, as well as support those that need our services,” Kikonyogo stated during the handover ceremony.

David Esuku, Education Manager at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), acknowledged the tangible impact of the donation, noting that improved learning spaces are key quality indicators for educational institutions. “We believe that if we want to build anything beautiful and lasting for this country, we must invest in our children,” he remarked.

The headteacher of Kiswa Primary School, Aisha Namaganda Ntege, expressed gratitude for the much-needed supplies, highlighting how they would be put to good use by the students. The donation is seen as a vital complement to government efforts in strengthening human capital development through education, addressing challenges such as overcrowded classrooms and resource shortages that public schools often face.

This contribution from Mogo Uganda aligns with national development plans aimed at enhancing the quality of education and ensuring more Ugandan children have access to conducive learning environments.
