Maya Preparatory School recently held a formal ceremony to inaugurate its pupil leaders for the upcoming year, 2026. The event aimed to formally recognize the responsibilities entrusted to the young leaders and to equip them with essential leadership skills for their roles within the school and future endeavors.
During the ceremony, Headteacher Shafic Isabilye acknowledged the competitive nature of the elections, commending the newly elected prefects for their success. He also extended gratitude to parents for their unwavering support throughout the election process and recognized the school administration, particularly the director, for their contributions that facilitated the successful staging of the event.
School director Muwanga Ssembatya echoed these sentiments, thanking parents and stakeholders for their involvement. He specifically highlighted the significant media support provided by Hajji Karim Kaliisa, managing director of Salam TV and Salam Charity, expressing appreciation for the partnership.
Ssembatya also took a moment to honor the outgoing prefects for their dedicated service, noting their commendable performance. Addressing the newly installed leaders, he urged them to serve as exemplary role models, embracing their duties with courage and diligence. He emphasized the school’s commitment to their development as future leaders through ongoing guidance and mentorship.
Newly elected Head Boy Muhammad Sharif Kaliisa expressed his gratitude to God, the teachers, and his fellow students for the opportunity to serve.
