The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Uganda was the venue for a significant diplomatic exchange this week, as acting Minister Haruna Kasolo Kyeyune formally accepted the Letters of Credence for Ms. Wanja Kaaria, the newly appointed Country Director for the World Food Programme (WFP) in Uganda.

During the ceremony, Minister Kasolo extended a warm welcome to Ms. Kaaria, emphasizing Uganda’s steadfast dedication to collaborating with the WFP. He highlighted the agency’s crucial role in advancing food security and fostering sustainable development within the nation.

Ms. Kaaria also acknowledged Uganda’s remarkable agricultural potential, noting that its consistent year-round production capacity positions the nation as a dependable source of food for the wider region.

Both the Minister and the new WFP Country Director expressed a shared commitment to deepening their collaboration, with the ultimate goal of improving food security and providing critical support to vulnerable populations throughout Uganda.
