A touching display of viewer loyalty has led to a significant upgrade for the AMA Clinic in Kawempe. The clinic’s dedication to watching NBS Television, even with a malfunctioning set, caught the eye of NBS videographer James Mutatina.

Mutatina shared his experience on X, noting how he stopped to watch NBS alongside clinic staff and patients, despite the poor picture quality. He then tagged Next Media Group CEO Kin Kariisa, affectionately requesting, “My leader @kkariisa, I’m in love with this place… Babulamu ka SmartTV koka (give them a Smart TV).”

Kariisa responded swiftly, directing his corporate affairs manager, Desire Mugumisa, to locate the clinic and ensure a new smart TV was installed by June 30th. This prompt action highlights Next Media’s commitment to its audience.

True to Kariisa’s word, a 43-inch smart television was delivered and set up at AMA Clinic. Mugumisa stated the gesture reflects Next Media’s appreciation for viewers who consistently choose their brand. “When James highlighted the challenge, our CEO immediately saw an opportunity to appreciate people who have continued to choose NBS,” Mugumisa explained during the handover.

The proprietor of AMA Clinic expressed immense gratitude for the unexpected gift, calling it a “wonderful gesture.” Mutatina added that the event underscores the importance of recognizing and valuing the audience that supports media brands.

This act of kindness coincides with NBS Television’s 18th anniversary, reinforcing the company’s dedication to maintaining strong connections with its viewers across Uganda.
