Ugandan singer Pretty Banks is sounding the alarm for aspiring artists, urging them to be aware of what she terms the “dark spiritual side” of the music business, which she claims is rife with witchcraft and envy.
Reflecting on her experiences, the artist described 2025 as the most challenging year of her life. It was during this period, she stated, that she encountered realities she had previously only heard about through industry rumors.
Pretty Banks candidly shared her belief that she herself was a victim of a spiritual attack. This alleged incident left her deeply disturbed and concerned about the unseen forces at play within the industry.
“The music industry is full of witchcraft; distance yourself from musicians,” she advised, emphasizing the need for self-preservation.
Elaborating on her fears, Pretty Banks recounted a specific, unsettling experience that solidified her convictions. “2025 was my worst year,” she revealed. “I experienced things I had only ever heard about in the music industry. Someone bewitched me, and I woke up one morning and found scars on my back.”
These statements have ignited discussions among fans and other artists, prompting a debate about the intense pressures, rivalries, and spiritual beliefs that characterize Uganda’s highly competitive music scene.
