Mudra D’ Viral, the creative force behind hits like ‘Balo Balo,’ has declared a change in his artist management strategy, opting to step back from guiding the careers of female musicians. The Ugandan songwriter and producer explained his decision during a recent interview on Galaxy FM, emphasizing that the move is rooted in practical and financial considerations.

Mudra clarified that contrary to speculation, his decision isn’t driven by female artists leaving him after he invests in their development. Instead, he highlighted that the management of female artists is significantly more costly and logistically intensive.

He elaborated on the tangible differences in day-to-day management, pointing out that male artists generally require less elaborate preparation. “A male artiste can quickly jump on a boda boda, eat anywhere, and be ready for an interview,” Mudra stated. “With female artistes, there’s makeup, transport preferences, and many other preparations. It’s hectic and requires more resources.”

This strategic pivot comes as Mudra introduces a new male artist under his label, signaling a renewed commitment to nurturing male talent. The seasoned producer, who has previously mentored artists like Ava Peace and Winnie Wa Mummy, stressed that his decision is purely based on operational efficiency and resource allocation, not on any personal issues with the female artists he has worked with.
