Uganda Muslim Supreme Council Welcomes Islamic Dawa Organization Chairman

The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) recently hosted Ambassador Ali bin Hassan Abdallah Al-Hammad, the esteemed Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Munazzamat Al-Dawa Al-Islamiyya, during an official visit to Uganda. The meeting, held at the UMSC National Headquarters in Old Kampala, aimed to reinforce the strong ties and explore further collaboration between the two Islamic organizations.

Ambassador Al-Hammad was welcomed by Sheikh Hafiz Muhammad Harunah Bukenya, the Second Deputy Mufti of Uganda, who represented the Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje. Sheikh Bukenya highlighted the UMSC’s central role in the Islamic faith within Uganda and provided an overview of the council’s structure, ongoing programs, and activities.

Sheikh Bukenya emphasized the value UMSC places on the “long-standing cooperation and partnership” between the two institutions and expressed gratitude for the support Munazzamat Al-Dawa Al-Islamiyya has provided to Muslim communities and initiatives in Uganda. The discussions focused primarily on reinforcing existing relationships and identifying new areas of mutual interest for collaborative efforts.

Both sides reiterated their commitment to deepening their cooperative relationship and agreed to schedule further engagements before the delegation’s departure. Dr. El-Gaz, a member of the visiting delegation, noted that the Chairman’s visit includes touring various projects established by Munazzamat Al-Dawa Al-Islamiyya within the country, underscoring the organization’s commitment to community development and humanitarian efforts in Uganda.

This visit underlines the significant and enduring relationship between UMSC and the Sudan-based Munazzamat Al-Dawa Al-Islamiyya, as both entities continue to work towards strengthening their collaborative impact in Uganda.
