NDA Cracks Down on Counterfeit Drugs in Kampala, Three Apprehended

The National Drug Authority (NDA) has intensified its efforts to combat the proliferation of illicit medical supplies with a recent operation in Kampala. Officials successfully seized a significant quantity of suspected counterfeit human and veterinary medicines during a targeted crackdown in the Kawempe and Kanyanya areas.

The enforcement action focused on various drug outlets and storage facilities that are allegedly involved in the distribution of unregistered, substandard, and illegally sourced pharmaceuticals. This move is part of the NDA’s broader mandate to ensure the safety and efficacy of medicines available to the public.

During the operation, three suspects were apprehended by NDA officials. They are currently in police custody at Kawempe Police Station, assisting with ongoing investigations.
