The Kitagwenda District Police are actively investigating the disturbing murder of an 18-year-old student, identified as Onesmus Alinda. Alinda, a Senior Four student at Kitagwenda High School, was found deceased in a coffee plantation owned by a local resident, Sperio Taremwa.

According to preliminary reports from the police, Alinda’s body bore numerous deep cut wounds across his head, arms, and legs, indicating a violent end. The grim discovery was made by Scovia Owembabazi, a resident who stumbled upon the body while gathering vegetables.

“I raised an alarm after seeing the body, and residents responded, but no one could immediately identify the deceased,” Owembabazi recounted. Colleagues from Kitagwenda High School later arrived and identified Alinda, reportedly leading to an emotional and disruptive reaction from some students.

Following the identification, some students allegedly engaged in destructive behavior, vandalizing nearby gardens and even setting a house on fire. The family of the deceased, alerted through social media messages, is seeking answers from the school administration regarding how a boarding student ended up outside the school premises, especially at night.

As the investigation progresses, the police have confirmed the arrest of two individuals, Robert Shabomujuni and Sperio Taremwa, who are currently assisting authorities with their inquiries. The motive behind the brutal killing remains unclear as of now.
