Law enforcement officials in Nsangi have issued a stern warning regarding a concerning surge in child-related crimes, including abductions, murders, ritualistic sacrifices, and domestic violence. ASP Betty Kazungu, the Community Liaison Officer for Nsangi Division, highlighted parental negligence as a primary factor enabling these security threats.

During a recent media appearance, Kazungu emphasized that many of these distressing incidents could be averted with greater parental supervision and attentiveness. She stated that criminals often exploit a lack of vigilance to target vulnerable children, underscoring the fundamental role parents play in their protection.

Kazungu specifically pointed to child sacrifice as a particularly heinous crime facilitated by gaps in parental oversight. She cautioned parents against prioritizing financial gain over their children’s safety, asserting that economic pursuits should never overshadow the essential responsibility of caregiving.

The police officer also voiced significant concern over the escalating rates of domestic violence and its profound impact on families and children. She explained that violence within the home not only destabilizes family structures but also inflicts emotional trauma, neglect, and abuse on children, increasing their susceptibility to exploitation.

“Domestic violence affects the entire family. It undermines the safety and wellbeing of children and weakens the social fabric of communities,” Kazungu noted, urging parents to find a balance between their work and maintaining close oversight of their children.

She concluded by stressing that safeguarding children requires constant vigilance, love, and responsibility, stating that the fight against child-related crimes must commence within the home, with parents leading the charge.

Authorities are appealing to residents to collaborate with law enforcement by reporting any suspicious activities or individuals that could endanger children, believing that stronger cooperation between families, communities, and security agencies is crucial to reducing these crimes.
